Aircraft Times

Flight Schedule Pro enables you to configure various meters and settings to track and aggregate usage of an aircraft. This article will provide an overview on how to use aircraft times in Flight Schedule Pro.

Overview

Flight Schedule Pro allows you to setup your aircraft to include any of the following meters:

  • Hobbs
  • Heater Hobbs
  • Air Time
  • Flight Time
  • Tachometers

You will have the option to enable a tach per engine on your aircraft. Each enabled meter can then be used to track usage against the Airframe, Engine, or Prop if applicable.

Initial Configuration for Aircraft Meters

Meters can be setup when an aircraft is created in the system, or anytime after that by performing the following:
  1. From the left-hand menu, go to "Aircraft"
  2. Select the Aircraft
  3. Click on "Aircraft Settings"
  4. Select "Aircraft Times" from the drop-down list.
  5. Click "Edit" to configure the aircraft times.
  6. Enable the relevant meters as installed on the aircraft.
  7. Enter current values for each meter.
  8. Click "Save"

Initial Configuration of Maintenance Times

Flight Schedule Pro can track and maintain maintenance times on your airframes, engines, and propellers automatically. The following can be tracked:

  • Airframe
    • Total Time in Service (TTIS)
  • Engines (each)
    • Total Time in Service (TTIS)
    • Time Since Overhaul (TSOH)
    • Props (each)
      • Total Time in Service (TTIS)
      • Time Since Overhaul (TSOH)

Perform the following steps to configure initial maintenance times:

    1. Select a "based on" meter for which usage should be tracked
    2. Enter the TTIS and TSOH values from the corresponding logbooks
    3. Click "Save"

The system will automatically calculate adjustment values as needed per the following formula:

Meter + TTIS Adjustment = TTIS

Meter + TSOH Adjustment = TSOH

As an example, when setting up a new aircraft with a single engine and prop that calculates usage based on the tach such as the following:

    Current Tach (from aircraft) 3,000.00
Current TTIS (entered from logbook) 2,500.00
Current TSOH (entered from logbook) 750.00

The system will automatically calculate and store the following adjustment values:

    TTIS adjustment (derived) -500.00
    TSOH adjustment (derived) -2,250.00

    Editing Meter Times

Occasionally a meter in an aircraft will not match to what is configured in Flight Schedule Pro. When this occurs, simply edit the appropriate meter and any maintenance times will automatically adjust based on the stored adjustment values. Using the above example, if you edited the tach to be 3002, the TTIS and TSOH values would appropriately adjust.

    Edited Tach 3,002.00
    TTIS (updated) 2,502.00
    TSOH (updated) 752.00

    Editing Maintenance Times

If you need to edit maintenance times, such as when an engine is overhauled, you simply enter new values for the relevant field, and the system will automatically re-calculate the adjustment values. Again using the above example, if you changed the TSOH value to 0.00 because you just overhauled it, the following will occur:

    Edited TSOH 0.00
    TSOH adjustment (derived) 3,002.00

    Swapping a Meter

There will be times when a meter needs to be swapped. This can occur when a meter is defective, or rolls over, or any other reason that would require a part change of that meter. When this happens, you will use the "Change Part" button to indicate to the system not to update any corresponding TTIS or TSOH values.

    1. Click "Change Part" for the respective meter
    2. The Change Part modal will display showing you the current value of the meter
    3. Enter the current value for the new part
    4. Click "Apply"

The system will show all changes made to maintenance times based on the new meter.

These changes are not updated in Flight Schedule Pro until you click "Save" on the Aircraft Times screen.

Using our above example, we will swap the existing tach for a brand new one.

    New Current Tach 0.00
    TTIS adjustment (derived) 2,502.00
    TSOH adjustment (derived) 0.00

    Viewing Aircraft Times

You can see all aircraft times including maintenance times on the aircraft profile.
